Concrete Block Machine

The picture below is a sample concrete block machine. Before discussing the machine, first, we need to know what the concrete block machine is.

A concrete block machine is a machine that uses pressure and vibration to form concrete products in its special molds. You may be interested to see what kind of products it produces. Below is the list of the most important products that this machine can produce:

  1. Hollow blocks in different shapes
  2. Solid blocks in different sizes
  3. Curbstones in different shapes and sizes
  4. Paving blocks in different thicknesses
  5. Asmolen blocks that are used for roofs (ceiling hollow block)
  6. Roof gutters
  7. Lawn stones

Why is the hollow block so popular?

It is because of its high durability and lightweight. The high durability is because of the pressure used by the concrete block machine in the production process of the hollow cement block. This allows you to have multi-floor buildings with lighter weight. The lighter weight makes your foundations cheaper and the total weight of the building will be reduced considerably.

Concrete product shapes also are not affected by high temperatures, which means if your building is on fire the main structure won't collapse.

  • How do we recognize the size of a concrete block machine?

The size of a machine is defined by the number of standard hollow concrete blocks produces in each press.

  • What is the size of a standard hollow block?

The width of a standard hollow block is 20cm, the length is 40cm, and the height is 20cm.

  • How do we recognize the speed of the concrete block machine?

The speed of the hollow block machine is related to the hydraulic system of the machine. The pump, the valves, and the automation level of the machine are the factors of the speed of the machine. Normally this should be between 100 and 120 presses in one hour.

  • How do we know the capacity of the concrete block machine?

First of all, don't get confused when the concrete block machine is called a brick making machine. It is because this machine also produces solid bricks and blocks as well as normal concrete blocks. The capacity of the machine is usually defined as the total production of the machine in 8 hours. Our smallest machines usually produce 4000 pieces of hollow blocks in an eight-hour shift and the name of the machine is PRS 400.

  • What are the automation options for the concrete block machine?

There are totally 3 automation levels for the concrete block machine

  1. semi-automatic system: it requires around 7 personnel to run the whole plant, The pallets are carried by handcarts, and at least 2500 m² land is needed for the whole equipment and stocking area.

  1. automatic system: around 5 personnel is needed to run the whole plant, the pallets are delivered to the curing area by forklifts, and at least 1500 m² land is needed for the whole equipment and stocking area.

  1. fully automatic system: there is no need for the machine operator in this system so a total of 3 people are needed for the plant. This system is suitable for areas with high labor costs and expensive lands.

  • What are the advantages of automatic over manual systems in concrete block machines?

In the automatic system, the ratio of the concrete mortar which is used in the concrete block machine will always be the same because it is done by the automatic machine. As a result, the quality of concrete products will always stay the same. This is very important for the producers because the customer will always be satisfied with the same quality.

  • Do I really need robots for my concrete block making machine?

If you live in a country where the labor cost is high you may prefer robots because in long term the total cost will be lower, but the total price of the machine will be higher. if you are in developing countries where the labor cost is low you may prefer to use labor power instead of robots because the cost will be lower and it is not worth using robots on your concrete block plant.

  • What kind of raw materials do I need for my hollow block machine?

This depends on your aim product and market. There are different types of additives you can add to your mortar, each one has its own pros and cons. You may need lighter blocks for this purpose you need to add a kind of additive but if you need to produce soundproof blocks there are other additives. Note that this will affect your product's final cost because some additives are expensive. The general material you need for your concrete block machine is sand, cement, water, and color pigments if you want to produce colored paving blocks.

  • Why is there a vibrator on the concrete brick machine?

To fill the cavities between the particles of the mortar, vibration is needed. If the vibrator is faulty or not powerful enough the quality of the products will be low.

  • Do I need high-quality water for my concrete brick machine?

If there is normal quality water it will serve your job but note that the water shouldn't be too salty. If the water is salty there will be some white lines on the surface of the products when they are dried. This will also affect the durability of the blocks because the cement won't stick all the pieces together if there is too much salt.

  • How can I recognize a high-quality mixer for my concrete block machine?

High-quality mixers have a powerful electrical motor with a suitable safety system mounted on them to prevent the motor from burning. Mechanically it should be sturdy as well because it should function well in long-term use. Also, it should have an extra wear plate sheet included inside the mixer and installed with bolts and nuts. This is especially for the long-term use of the concrete block machine. When the inner plates are worn out you can change them and the body of the mixer will remain intact.

Bess Concrete Block Machines

Currently, Bess is producing different types of machines with different capacities and automation levels. All Bess stationary machines and mobile machines can produce high-quality concrete products According to your demand and your budget, Bess can design and produce the best machine for your business. Below you can see some of the advantages of Bess machines which are produced by Bess company.

♦For the automation level of your concrete block machine, Bess has semi-automatic, automatic, and fully automatic types.

♦ You can purchase the machine with a single hopper or double-hopper.

The advantage of a double-hopper concrete block machine over a single-hopper machine is that you can produce double-layer paving blocks in the double-hopper machine.

With this advantage, you can produce the top layer of the concrete paving block in different qualities and different colors. These machines are called paving block machines.

Single-hopper machines are called hollow block machines.

♦ It's possible to add or remove the items from the total list based on your site and your business condition.

♦ Two different options for the machine:

1.  Full-plant: You can buy the concrete block machine with all pieces of equipment needed in the full plant. It is for customers who need higher production capacities in their company with fewer workers.

2. Mini plant: The block machine and the necessary equipment needed for the business are included in this option. This is suitable for starters and countries in which the labor cost is lower.

♦ Bess provides technical drawings for your plant area before installation and commissioning.

♦ Bess uses high-quality parts for the machine which means you can use them for a long time without any deformation or issues. The machines are designed based on Euro standards.

♦ Bess technical team will come to your plant for installation and they will train your operators. In this way, your operators will learn how to operate the concrete block machine. These services are totally free of charge.

Concrete Block Machine Production Process

It consists of the weighing process mixing process, molding process, curing process, and packaging process.

First sand and gravel are weighed and delivered to the mixer with the right ratio. Then water and cement are added with the required amount.

Powdered portland cement is stored in cement silos and delivered with cement screws to a special hopper called a cement hopper and then it is added to the mixer.

Water is also added with digital counters. Then the mixer starts to mix the mortar until it is homogenized. After that, it is delivered to the hopper of the concrete block machine. From the hopper, it is delivered to the mortar cart which later fills the molds with mortar.

The vibration densifies the mortar which is in the molds and then the upper mold starts to press the mortar to the down mold with hydraulic pressure to form the hollow blocks. This is the most important job of the machine.

This action is done on the surface of the pallets and then both molds of the concrete block machine move up with hydraulic power and the pallet is moved out of the machine.

The concrete blocks are then delivered to the curing section and after they are dried they are moved to the euro pallets, packaged, and ready for transportation.

 Concrete Block Machine Price

the concrete block machine price depends on the equipment you choose to come with the machine. Other factors are automation levels, the number of molds, and the number of pallets that are ordered with the machine. There is a separate article discussing this matter in detail. please check concrete block making machine for sale for the pricelists.

Spending a bit much on the concrete block machine for better quality is better than further faults that will stop your production frequently. If the block making machine is not designed for long-term use you will be in serious trouble. Because after a while most of the parts will break down. Some machines are not even fixable and they are designed to be replaced not to be fixed. So you need to be careful about what you are buying.

Each time your machine falls into fault you will lose production and the cost you pay for maintenance and the cost you pay for the loss of production will be much more than the money you pay when buying your machine.
